Michael O’Leary has over 40 years of power plant experience covering a broad range of disciplines. He has significant hands-on O&M experience with varied fuel types. He has many years of asset management experience that includes contracting, budgeting, legislative affairs and dispute resolution. His career started in the maritime industry with Apex Oil Co. where he was an engineer aboard a number of different vessels. He took several ships through comprehensive overhauls at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore. He transitioned to shore side power generation and has more than 30 years of biomass fired plant experience. He worked for a subsidiary of PSEG & Harbert Power for more than 25 years in a general management role. He also assisted in start-up budgeting and outfitting as well as due diligence work for various acquisitions. Michael was a key participant in the development of the NH Renewable Portfolio Standard.
At Olympus Mr. O’Leary is responsible for the Asset Management and O&M of two biomass fired facilities, Bridgewater Power Company LP and Burgess BioPower LLC.
Mr. O’Leary holds a Master of Business Administration from Franklin Pierce University and a BS in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
