Olympus Power, LLC is a privately held U.S. independent power company based in Morristown, NJ, which owns and manages power plants that sell electricity and thermal energy to utilities and industrial concerns. Our firm maintains full or partial equity interests in these projects in order to optimize these assets by better aligning interests. Our portfolio includes efficient gas-fired cogeneration facilities, renewables such as biomass, hydroelectric and wind-powered facilities, in addition to alternative technologies like our coal refuse reclamation to energy operations.
The principals of Olympus previously grew Delta Power Company, LLC into a leading, privately-held independent power company that was national in scope and maintained investments in each of the major unregulated electricity markets in the United States including California, Texas, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and New England. Olympus Power retains that national expertise and strategic vision and remains proud of our proven record of success with respect to the financial restructuring and technical re-engineering of troubled power projects. We uniquely provide asset management, operations and maintenance, and equity capital which allow us to restructure and re-engineer such independent power facilities, as necessary, and to generate returns above the industry average.
Olympus maintains long-established relationships with major financial institutions experienced in the independent power industry. We provide all required debt and equity capital to successfully complete our transactions in an expeditious manner. We work closely with our strategic, financial and industry partners to provide smooth transitions of assets and incorporate industry safety and best practices into all our projects.
Our Mission
Olympus Power pursues the long-term development of opportunities for investment in and ownership of energy projects and portfolios. Olympus Power's goal is to be the preeminent independent owner and operator of electrical generation facilities in the United States. We will continue to strive to achieve these goals through our dedication to environmental stewardship, honesty and integrity, safety, employee respect, and teamwork.
Olympus Power, LLC, a subsidiary of Olympus Holdings, LLC, a holding company based in Morristown, NJ, was established in January 2007 and is the successor to Delta Power Company, LLC. Founded in 1997, the principals of Olympus Power built Delta Power into a leading US independent power producer which owned interests in 37 operating power plants across the U.S, with over $3.5 billion of assets and the responsibility for operating projects with a gross capacity of over 4500 MW of electricity generation. Delta Power included in its project portfolio, natural gas, biomass, oil and coal fired power projects as well as hydroelectric facilities. Its mix of generation facilities included cogeneration projects, peaking facilities and base loaded utility style plants.

Investment Strategy
Olympus Power and its affiliates make equity investments in (a) the acquisition, development, ownership and operation of power generation projects (including operating, greenfield and brownfield projects), typically through investments in partnerships or limited liability companies; (b) private companies that develop, design, provide or facilitate proven technology-based products and services that are applicable to the energy industry or its customers; and (c) energy-related companies or assets having renewable or environmentally-beneficial attributes.
Our primary strategy focuses upon the acquisition of operating assets and projects in varied stages of development, through negotiated transactions and select auction processes. We primarily invest in existing energy-generation assets with a target investment size between $5 million to $100 million per transaction. Olympus’ principal geographic focus is North America. Olympus Power may invest a substantial part, if not all, of the required equity in smaller transactions and will seek to partner with its longstanding network of industry firms and financial institutions in larger transactions.
When assessing a new investment opportunity for Olympus, the primary selection criteria includes:
- • profitability and cash-generation capability of the asset or company throughout an industry/economic cycle;
- • identifiable risks which can be hedged or mitigated;
- • relationship-referred and/or privately negotiated transactions which allow for the avoidance of auctions that often inflate prices and reduce returns on equity;
- • barriers to entry allowing protection of such capability (e.g., market share, intellectual property position and industry fundamentals);
- • organic growth and expansion prospects of the asset or company;
Olympus Power continuously seeks opportunities to utilize electric generation equipment which efficiently maximizes the use of natural resources consumed in the process of producing electricity. As our domestic energy policy continues to evolve toward the use of cleaner and renewable fuels, Olympus is responding to the demands of the energy consumer by seeking opportunistic investments with an emphasis upon natural gas and selective investments in renewable portfolios including coal reclamation to energy, wind, solar, biomass and hydroelectric facilities. Olympus Power embraces opportunities to be good stewards of the earth. We seek to develop, acquire and operate plants that are in the vanguard of America’s sustainable energy future. To this point, we emphasize renewable generation such as coal refuse reclamation to energy, biomass, wind, solar and hydroelectric plants while continuing to pursue other technologies that may not be classified as renewable but have high cycle efficiencies and reduce the adverse effect of carbon or other emissions (e.g. gas-fired cogeneration and district steam technologies).
