Rick Vicens has served as the President of Olympus Power since its establishment in January 2007. Mr. Vicens has extensive experience in sourcing and closing mergers and acquisitions transactions in the independent power industry as well as raising capital for a diverse range of domestic and international energy projects. In addition, he has managed the successful turn-around of a number of independent power facilities.
Prior to Olympus, from 2000 until its sale to an affiliate of Bear Stearns in January 2007, Mr. Vicens served as the Senior Vice President of Delta Power Company, LLC with responsibility for managing the company’s business development and financing efforts. At its peak, Delta Power owned interests in 26 operating power plants across the U.S, with over $3 billion of assets and the responsibility for operating over 3000 MW of electricity generation.
Prior to joining Delta Power, Mr. Vicens was Managing Director, Project Finance & Risk Management for MCN Energy Group, a diversified mid-western energy company based in Michigan (now owned by DTE Energy). AT MCN he was charged with structuring and closing non-recourse debt financing for independent power projects and natural gas pipelines while also managing the company’s risk management framework for MCN’s natural gas trading subsidiary.
Prior to MCN, Mr. Vicens served as Financial Manager for Amoco Corporation, and prior to that, was a Finance Associate at Salomon Smith Barney, where he provided transaction support for numerous public debt offerings.
Mr. Vicens presently serves on the boards of several independent power companies. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University.
