Conemaugh Generating Station

Conemaugh Generation Station located on a 2,500 acre site along the Conemaugh River, 13 miles northwest of Johnstown, PA. Conemaugh Power Plant is a major component of the billion-dollar power development in the Chestnut Ridge. The station was constructed by investor-owned utilities representing five eastern states and the District of Columbia. The station burns about 5 million tons of Pennsylvania coal per year. Conemaugh is a supercritical tangential fired boiler with a Steam Turbine Generator package. Conemaugh is equipped with the most advanced environmental control technology including a FGD Scrubber and an SCR  The plant provides approximately 200 full time jobs, hundreds of outage jobs, and employment for about 100 related trucking jobs as well as employment for Pennsylvania miners.
