Keystone Generating Station

Keystone Generation Station is located on a 1,000 acre track off highway 210 in Plum Creek Township 35 miles northwest of Johnstown, PA. Keystone Power Plant is a major component of the billion-dollar power development in the Chestnut Ridge. The Keystone station was constructed by investor-owned utilities representing five eastern states. The station burns about 4.5 million tons of Pennsylvania coal per year. Keystone is a supercritical tangential fired boiler with a Steam Turbine Generator package. Keystone is equipped with the most advanced environmental control technology including a FGD Scrubber and an SCR.  The plant provides approximately 200 full time jobs, hundreds of outage jobs, and employment for about 100 related trucking jobs as well as employment for Pennsylvania miners.
